Meet the team

Launched in August 2015 by Michelle, BoardWalkers is a fully insured family operated Licensed Boarding Establishment,registered with the Basingstoke & Deane Borough Council.

 

Michelle is a Registered Veterinary Nurse of 15yrs+ experience, qualifying in 2002 with credit from Berkshire College of Agriculture, in addition to which she is certified in a National Diploma in Animal Care (1998), a distinction in Feline Friendly Nursing(2011) and a Canine First Aid certificate (2015 & 2018 & 2019 ), , Dog Law  seminar (2016) ,Sarah Whitehead Learn to talk dog - Canine body language and facial expressions (2017)  dog training college courses Reactive Rascals (2019) and Canine body Language 2019) extended course also still to complete) along with many other CPD course certificated. 

 

 

The Walker family love dogs as well as many other pets. We welcome your beloved well behaved family dog/s into our home whilst you and your family are away or working. We cater for holiday boarding and for those times when you are in need of a day or night out, offering day or night stay boarding

 

BoardWalkers is also able to providesPet Services including .. Live in Home Sitting, Home visits for small animals, dogs and cats. Nail clipping is also offered working around our dog boarders.
 

The walker family include 3 resident dogs , a cat and 3 ferrets

All dogs living in our home MUST be dog, cat , small furry and child friendly.

Martine Baker- Martines Boarding

Martine lives in Basingstoke with her Partner & her 3 young boys.

 

Martine has worked as a Veterinary Nursing Assistant for 15yrs + in Basingstoke, Hampshire. 

During her veterinary career, Martine worked along side Michelle in Practice for 4 years before Michelle moved practices. Still remaining friends and keeping in contact out of the work environment.

Martine left the veterinary industry to spend some more time with her family but still wanted to keep working with animals in a flexible position. Joining the BoardWalkers team Martine is loving the different side of animal care and has a passion for the difficult dogs. Always from a young age wanted to work with animals and looking after them and people.

Martine has 2 dogs of her own.

Edith - Romainan Rescue rehomed as a puppy in 2019, She is a bouncy little charachter,not a fan of travelling but loves life otherwise.

Bruce is a 6 yr old chihuahua x Jrt rescue with a chilled attitude. 

 

Martine also owns Nedge her 6 yr old ginger cat who just loves to eat!.

Sadly in 2019 Martine had to say goodbye to her beloved old lady - Matilda a 10yr old , 3 legged pup that has bad hips and a bad temper to match ... but well loved! classed as a DIVA.

Ryan Blunden-Parsons -

Ryan joined the team in 2016 starting out as a work experience student with BoardWalkers whilst he was studying at Sparsholt College Hampshire, training in National Diploma in Animal Care. Ryan completed his course with a Level 3 Diploma in Animal management and a Level 2 in Veterinary Medicine..... Ryan continues to be a great asset to BoardWalkers by covering dog walks, house sitting, home visits and joining me on our adventures. 

Ryan has gone on to continue his education and study Dog Grooming at Sparsholt College Hampshire whilst also carrying out work experience at a groomers and has qualified in Feb 2018 a Level 2 dog groomer. Ryan hopes in the near future to open his own grooming business.  

Adding many strings to his bow and keeping busy Ryan is also a great support with the children when he works at Breakfast club and After school club at a local school in Basingstoke. 

He also enjoys being a tailor making many items of clothing out of fabric 

Ryan is a great asset to our team and will often  be seen with his little French pup Mable joining him on his many walks too.

Charlotte Traynor - Wiggly Walkies

Charlotte joined the team in 2016 as work experience whilst studying at BCOT college Basingstoke in National Diploma in Animal Care. Charlotte is currently in her final year. 

Charlotte has continued to work along side myself and as an important asset to the team assisting as a house sitter mainly for our pups that are unable to board or need a few hours / overnight cover / holiday sitting. 

Charlotte lives at home with her family and has a household of animals ranging from her two pups Fraser and Jasper to a collection of tarantulas. 

Charlotte worked a year in Happy Tails Grooming as an assistant groomer learning the skills of the industry before moving on and started her own business in Jan 2020 - Wiggly Walkies

Dionne Stocking - Assit-U

Dionne joined the team as a host boarder in February 2018.

She is fully licensed in her own right under her Company name of Assist-U pet boarding service. Having lost her beloved Weimaraner in November 2017, whom she is not yet ready to replace, she was very much missing her daily “dog fix”, so decided to open her home to dogs that need boarding whether it be for day care or longer. Having grown up with dogs Dionne loves them and is looking forward to building up her clientele with us and working with the team. Dionne lives in Basingstoke with her Husband and son and in her spare time enjoys keeping fit and Yoga. 

Dionne in 2019 decided to get a new pup named Kaiser .. a wiermaraner puppy and he is an absolute stunner. very well natured and well socialised
